On September 30, an educational event dedicated to the outstanding mathematician M.V. Ostrogradskyi was held.
Traditionally, in these September days, teachers and students honor the memory of a prominent Ukrainian born in Poltava region, after whom our university and the Department of Informatics and Higher Mathematics are named - the memory of Mykhailo V. Ostrohradskyi.
His works became the basis on which the School of Mechanics was built and developed. During his lifetime, he published more than 100 scientific papers, and mathematicians have long been accustomed to the terms Ostrogradsky's equation, Ostrogradsky's method, Ostrogradsky-Gauss formula, and Ostrogradsky-Hamilton principle. It is difficult to list all the achievements of the prominent Ukrainian and his honorary titles, because it is no coincidence that his name was placed on a par with the world-famous names of Lallas, Fourier, Ampère, Poisson, and Cauchy.
The extraordinary personality of Academician M.V. Ostrogradskyi inspires modern students to new achievements and success in their studies!
