Smart City: Guest Lecture

On October 8, 2025, an interesting meeting was held for second-level (master's) students majoring in F3 Computer Science, to which Olena Semenykhina, deputy director of the municipal enterprise “Miskformuvannya,” which develops software for municipal needs in the city of Kremenchuk, was invited.

Ms. Olena began her lecture with a brief explanation of the principles of building Smart City elements. She noted that most of the world's population can now be called a smart society, living in a world of interaction between the Internet and various technical means. Smart technologies have been around us for a long time, but we do not always pay attention to them. For example, computers, surveillance cameras, electronic maps, GPS navigators – all these belong to “smart” technologies. With each step, the smart society constantly strives to develop because the smart technology industry is developing at a rapid pace.

Events such as this meeting with a leading specialist from a company that is directly involved in the creation of “smart” cities are extremely important for training future IT specialists, allowing students to learn about modern smart systems and technologies that have already been implemented in their hometown.
