Electronic intelligence means for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Teachers and students of the Department of Automation and Information Systems (AIS) of Kremenchuk National University raised funds (UAH 30,000) and purchased 10 electronic intelligence devices. They are necessary for the soldiers to protect them from enemy drones.

The purchased devices (pictured) are called “vanilla sugar”. This is a Ukrainian invention from the war, an invisible electronic intelligence device that can detect and identify common models of Russian UAVs - Lancet, Zala, Orlan, DJIMavic drones. It can also warn of their approach. Thanks to this device, soldiers have the opportunity to escape from an enemy drone. The military say that ideally, every soldier on the front line should have such a “vanilla sugar”.

It was for these devices that Serhiy Prytchyn, a professor at the AIS Department, was asked by his former student, a graduate of the KrNU, Oleksandr. He graduated from the university in 2017. On June 13, he defended his master's thesis, and on June 14, he was already in the military unit where he served. Since then, he has been at war for seven years, fighting for Ukraine's independence and currently defending it from Russian invaders.
